DORAL, FLA. (WSVN) – A violent crash has shut down southbound lanes along the Palmetto Expressway in Doral, reportedly sending at least one person to the hospital and causing traffic delays during rush hour.
A traffic camera captured first responders and a pickup truck with extensive front-end damage near the Northwest 36th Street exit, at around 7 a.m. on Friday.
A rotator tow truck at the scene, meanwhile, tried to lift the pickup truck involved off another vehicle.
One person who was pinned as a result of the crash has reportedly been taken to the hospital, but officials with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue haven’t specified how many victims were involved or the extent of their injuries.
All southbound lanes remain closed to raffic between 36th and 58th streets, with traffic being diverted at 58th Street. The closure has backed up traffic all the way to Interstate 75, so officials urge drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes
