TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — This time of year, there’s an emphasis on helping others. With WFLA Kindness Day, we come together to support so many wonderful charities doing amazing work in our area.
Feeding Tampa Bay comes to the forefront with all the incredible work they continue to do within our community.
“You know, this has been a terrific partnership between us and the station. It’s hard to imagine how much food has been collected,” said Feeding Tampa Bay ceo Thomas Mantz.
Our donation drive on Friday, Dec. 5 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. in front of our station makes it simple for anyone to give a little, or a lot.
“I think what Kindness Day means to us. And to me, it’s about the generosity,” said Mantz.
For families in need, having resources at the ready makes a significant impact. Feeding Tampa Bay has continued ramp up efforts to help the community through recent hurdles like the government shutdown.
“Challenges in our neighbors’ homes are greater today than they were a year ago, two years ago, even five years ago,” said Mantz.
Mantz says getting involved and connected with our neighbors, especially on Kindness Day makes it easier to cover more needs that may be overlooked.
“Let’s be kind to each other. Let’s make sure we look after each other. You know, make your community better for you being in it,” said Mantz.
