The internet is obsessed with the chaos that unfolded when a boisterous puppy stole his owner’s phone.
Gabby, who posts to TikTok under the username @gabbyxbell, is the proud owner of a three-month-old German shepherd puppy, Creed, who has already become a social media star.
In a clip shared to her TikTok account on March 13, Gabby, who lives in Chicago, showed the reality of living with a full-of-energy puppy who you can’t take your eyes off—as he stole her phone and somehow managed to capture a video as his owner gave chase.
Viewed more than 3 million times, it shows the moment Creed has grabbed the phone in his mouth while a video is recording—and captures him sprinting around the kitchen island in circles, his owner hot on his heels as she tries to catch him.
“I think we chased each other around the kitchen island 50 times so this is my logged cardio for the day,” Creed’s owner joked in the caption.
The shaky video shows the world from Creed’s eyes, with his whiskers visible over the camera, his owner—much taller than him as she ruthlessly chases him—torn between laughter and frustration, and at one point he even captures his own reflection in the oven.
TikTok users pointed this tiny detail out in the comments, with one sharing a screengrab of the puppy’s reflection, holding the phone in his mouth, and admitting: “I didn’t want to believe it.”
Another laughed at “his whiskers” being constantly visible, as another declared: “10/10 amazing house tour.”
And as one admitted: “The camera work was so good I thought it was fake til I saw the whiskers.”
The video proved hugely popular, with more than 650,000 likes, and Gabby later shared a video with the original audio, where you can hear her laughing breathlessly as she chases the puppy around the island.
Some pet owners choose to buy specialized cameras for their pets, which attach to the collar to show their owners how they see the world.
