Community members and local law enforcement agencies worked quickly to spread the word after 14-year-old JaIanna Duncan went missing on March 2, 2026.
According to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, JaIanna was last seen at approximately 2:00 p.m. at GlenOak High School, located at 1801 Schneider Street NE in Plain Township.
Witnesses reported seeing her board a school bus, but officials initially did not know where she exited.
The case quickly gained attention online after A Voice For The Voiceless, Inc., a nonprofit organization based in Plain Township, Stark County, shared an urgent alert urging the public to help locate the missing teen.
The organization posted JaIanna’s description and asked the community to share the information widely, emphasizing that time mattered and that her family needed answers.
At the time she was reported missing, JaIanna stood 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighed approximately 150 pounds.
She had dark brown hair styled in two ponytails and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black puffer jacket, a tan T-shirt, black leggings, and red and white Adidas tennis shoes.
Both the sheriff’s office and community advocates encouraged residents to contact authorities with any information regarding her whereabouts.
The public responded quickly, sharing posts across social media platforms and amplifying the alert throughout the region.
Officials have now confirmed that JaIanna Duncan has been located. While authorities have not released additional details, they expressed gratitude to everyone who shared the information and assisted in spreading awareness.
The update has brought a sense of relief to her loved ones and to the wider Plain Township community.
