The first round of the 2026 NCAA Tournament is officially in the books and only a handful of potential Cinderella teams still exist.
Arguably the biggest upset of the first round came from High Point, the No. 12 seed which dispatched No. 5 seed Wisconsin in thrilling fashion. However, only four double-digit seeds still remain in the tournament: No. 10 Texas A&M, No. 11 VCU, No. 11 Texas and No. 12 High Point.
All four of those double-digit seeds will be in action on Saturday, March 21 as the Aggies square off against No. 2 Houston, the Rams take on No. 3 Illinois, Texas faces No. 3 Gonzaga and High Point attempts another massive upset against No. 4 Arkansas.
ESPN’s Jay Bilas sees one of the four teams moving on to the next round.

Ahead of the NCAA Tournament, Bilas revealed each of his picks and his rationale behind the selection. While the Longhorns were part of a play-in game, the longtime ESPN analyst had plenty of faith in Texas and head coach Sean Miller – so much so that he sent Texas all the way to the Sweet 16 by taking down No. 3 Gonzaga.
“The Zags are playing without Braden Huff — and his 17.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game — which limits their offense and defense. Gonzaga is the better team, but consider taking a flier here. Texas is a sneaky 11-seed because of its size, Dailyn Swain’s ability to score and Sean Miller’s coaching chops,” Bilas said.
The Bulldogs were the most-selected No. 3 seed to win the national title and the seventh-most selected behind all four No. 1 seeds and No. 2 seeds Houston and UConn.
Gonzaga and Texas tip off at 7:10 p.m. ET on truTV.
