CANTON, MASS. (WHDH) – Karen Read is being sued for defamation by several people who testified against us.
The lawsuit is brought by Jennifer McCabe, Brian Albert, Colin Albert, and Brian Higgins. They filed a lawsuit against Read and blogger Aidan Kearney, also known as Turtle Boy, saying they’ve spread lies about the death of Read’s boyfriend, Boston police officer John O’Keefe.
The plantiffs argue they’ve faced non-stop harassment over Read’s claims they may have played a role in O’Keefe’s death and framed her to cover it.
Read was acquitted of the most serious charges against her, including second-degree murder in her retrial last year.
