If you’re looking for a little peace and quiet, a cottage named Sweet Pea just might be your answer.

609 Mason Bay Road, Unit C-2, is a 450-square-foot three-season cottage known as Sweet Pea. Built in 1930, the home is perched high on a dune on just under half an acre on picturesque Sandy River Beach, tucked in the waterfront fishing and lobstering town of Jonesport, Maine.

“It’s less touristy in the summer, and it has just so many of the little ma and pa shops,” said Melissa Carter of Realty of Maine, who has the listing with John Bettis. “It’s just what I think of when I think of growing up in Maine.”

A turn off the main road welcomes you to the cabin area on a dirt road, which is tucked behind shady spruce trees for extra privacy. Climb two steps on the side of the house to enter, and you’re welcomed into the small living area that accommodates a couch. Two massive windows in the front of the cabin provide views of the shimmering ocean in the distance. Pass the dining area where wide-plank hardwood floors are painted a deep blue. In the kitchen, you’ll find all the necessary amenities like a stove and a refrigerator, as well as wooden cabinetry and a sink under a window.

In the back of the house, you’ll find the bedroom, which has white beadboard walls and vaulted ceilings; the floor is painted green. The bedroom has a door leading to the yard. In the bathroom, you’ll find a small step-in shower.

Of course, anyone who buys Sweet Pea will likely spend most of their days on the white sandy beach in front of the home.

While Sweet Pea is a three-season property, there is a propane wall unit for heat. The home has a septic system, picnic tables, and parking for two.

Sweet Pea is one of three cottages on the property. The owners are also selling the 850-square-foot cabin next door, known as Maine Rose for $499,000. All of the cabins can be used as Airbnbs or summer rentals.
