For over a decade, the New York Knicks were at the bottom of the barrel when it came to the NBA.
But then, after years of scratching and clawing to get out from the dregs, the Knicks began making noise in the Eastern Conference.
Fans would spill out of Madison Square Garden, supporting the team through thick and thin, going viral with their wild takes and antics.
Those spontaneous outbursts from Knicks fans have grown year by year as they’ve become a perennial contender in the East, and with every passing postseason, the reactions have gone from authentic to near-parody.
And on Monday, Knicks fans have turned on themselves, following a gut-punch collapse to the Atlanta Hawks at home in the second game of the opening round of the playoffs.
Following the loss, most Knicks fans were frustrated or angry, wondering how they let a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter evaporate.
But as those fans sulked off into the night, a rowdy crowd of Knicks fans continued their boisterous outbursts into cameras filming them, screaming that they’d win the series in five games.

What was once a source of pride for Knicks fans has become an embarrassment, as clips of the yelling “supporters” have gone viral on social media for all the wrong reasons.
“Almost broke my hand slamming a gate out of anger and drove immediately home,” said a disgruntled Knicks fan on social media. “But these [expletive] bozos out here wanting a viral moment. I’m over this.”
“No wonder why they haven’t won a trophy in over 50 years,” chimed in another poster on X. “What a pathetic organization from the players to the ‘fans’.”
“As a Knick fan these aren’t real fans,” added another frustrated New York supporter. “They’ll be out side dancing when Knicks eliminated. Look at me crowd.”
The Knicks will look to regain their series lead against the Hawks on Thursday when they travel to Atlanta.
