A man is facing murder charges in connection with a fatal South Shore shooting in November, Chicago police said.
Jameel Murphy, 35, faces a count of first-degree murder, police said.
Akeem Anderson, 35, was getting out of a vehicle in a parking lot of a hospital in the 7600 block of South Stony Island Avenue at 7:17 p.m. on Nov. 12 when Murphy allegedly fired shots at him, police said.
Anderson was shot multiple times and taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. He was pronounced dead at 7:44 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Murphy is due in court Wednesday.
