Man shot in South Shore dies after taking himself to the hospital

A 22-year-old man was shot in the abdomen early Sunday in the South Shore neighborhood, authorities said.

The man was in the 1900 block of East 72nd Place around 4 a.m. when he suffered the gunshot wound. He took himself to Advocate Trinity Hospital where he later died, Chicago police said.

No one has been arrested. No other details were immediately, but detectives are investigating.
