An assailant opened fire, hitting three men inside a parked vehicle, killing one and seriously injuring the others Thursday night on the Southwest Side.
The three men were in a parked vehicle around 10:30 p.m. in the 5800 block of South Western Avenue when someone approached on foot and opened fire, Chicago police said.
A 19-year-old man was shot multiple times in the body and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.
A 22-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and back and was taken to the same hospital where he was in serious condition, officials said.
A third man, 41, was shot in the lower torso and was taken to the Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was also in serious condition, authorities said.
No one was in custody.
Area 1 detectives are investigating.
