One person was killed and three others were wounded in a shooting early Wednesday in Englewood on the South Side.
Just after midnight, four men were outside in the 7000 block of South Halsted Street when two gunmen approached and opened fire, Chicago police said.
Richard Cotton, 52, was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
A 27-year-old man was shot in the right leg and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was in good condition, officials said.
A third man, 38, was grazed in the right arm and was taken to the same hospital, where he was in good condition, authorities said. A 33-year-old man was grazed in his right forearm and refused medical attention.
No one was in custody.
