YouTube star and entrepreneur MrBeast has waded into a public dispute over Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups after the grandson of the candy’s inventor accused Hershey’s of diluting the brand’s core ingredients.
In a post on LinkedIn Sunday, Brad Reese, the grandson of H. B. Reese, publicly criticized The Hershey Company—which has owned the Reese’s brand since 1963—over what he called formulation changes that replaced milk chocolate and real peanut butter with alternative ingredients, such as “peanut‑butter‑style crèmes” across some products.
MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, then joined the conversation in a post on X, where he shared Brad Reese’s message. “FYI this is why Feastables started selling peanut butter cups,” he wrote.
MrBeast has been competing with Hershey’s, the leading chocolate company in the U.S., since launching his own chocolate brand, Feastables, in 2022.
