- Tuesday, March 3 at 11 a.m.: The City Council’s Subcommittee on Landmarks, Public Sitings, Resiliency and Dispositions will meet regarding 1727 Amsterdam Avenue – Hill Top Apartments and the Department of Environmental Protection’s Newtown Creek Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Storage Tunnel Project. - Tuesday, March 3 at 6:30 p.m.: The Public Housing Community Fund will host a panel discussion on “how artists engage with public housing communities, activism, and cultural storytelling to shape public narratives and drive meaningful community impact.” More here.
- Wednesday, March 4 at 10 a.m.: The City Planning Commission will vote on the following proposals: St. Francis Prep Commercial Overlay, Arthur Kill Road & Englewood Avenue, and 37-59 Hamilton Avenue Rezoning. More here.
- Wednesday, March 4 at 10 a.m.: The City Council’s Committee on Mental Health and Substance Use will hold an oversight hearing on how New York City connects residents to mental health services. More here.
- Wednesday, March 4 at 11 a.m.: The City Council’s Subcommittee on Zoning and Franchises will meet about the following land use applications: 20 Berry Street, 1325 Avenue of the Americas, and Allen Street Mall Demapping. More here.
- Wednesday, March 4 at 1 p.m.: The City Council’s Committees on Veterans and Women and Gender Equity will meet regarding a bill that would give veterans of the U.S. military an admission preference for NYCHA public housing. More here.
- Wednesday, March 4 at 6 p.m.: Neighbors Helping Neighbors will host an online workshop for first-time homebuyers featuring Michael Alamia of Citibank and realtor Rashèedah Brown. More here.
- Monday, March 9 at 10 a.m.: The City Council’s Committee on Housing and Buildings will hold an oversight hearing on the Third Party Transfer program, which allows the city to seize negligent properties and transfer them to new ownership to make repairs. More here.
- Monday, March 9 at 1 p.m.: The City Council’s Committee on General Welfare will meet about several bills related to homeless shelter intake, as well as outreach efforts during extreme cold weather. More here.
NYC Affordable Housing Lotteries: The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) will close lotteries on the following subsidized buildings this week.
- 815 Kings Highway Apartments, Brooklyn, for households earning between $143,898 – $227,500 (last day to apply is 3/2)
- 121 Mount Hope Place Apartments, Bronx, for households earning between $75,669 – $103,680 (last day to apply is 3/4)
- 715 East 216th Street Apartments, Bronx, for households earning between $75,840 – $116,640 (last day to apply is 3/4)
- 11 Gerry Street Apartments, Brooklyn, for households earning between $32,160 – $226,800 (last day to apply is 3/4)
- 75-42 Grand Central Parkway, Queens, for households earning between $94,458 – $227,500 (last day to apply is 3/5)
- Grant TPT Apartments, Bronx, for households earning between $51,669 – $105,000 (last day to apply is 3/6)
- Lighthouse Point, Staten Island, for households earning between $134,298 – $227,500 (last day to apply is 3/6)
