There was an active shooter situation as of about 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Endeavor Health Swedish Hospital in Lincoln Square, according to a statement Ald. Andre Vasquez (40th) posted on Facebook. Vasquez said there were “multiple shots fired and two officers shot, one in critical condition.”
He advised residents near the hospital at 5140 N. California Ave. and the 2600 block of West Winona Street to shelter in place and avoid the area.
Vasquez said his office would send out more information as it becomes available.
Police were not immediately available to confirm details.
