Multiple people shot on I-57 near Halsted Street on far South Side

Multiple people were injured in an expressway shooting early Sunday on the far South Side.

Illinois State Police troopers responded to the shooting in the northbound lanes of I-57 near Halsted Street around 1:15 a.m. Sunday. All northbound lanes were closed and diverted to 111st Street.

All lanes reopened at 6:30 a.m.

State police did not say how many people were injured or the severity of their injuries. Troopers are investigating the shooting.
