The Chicago Bears made easy work of the visiting Cleveland Browns on Sunday, achieving a 31-3 win against rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders in one of his remaining games this season.
While Caleb Williams recorded 242 yards and two touchdowns, he couldn’t completely elude the Browns’ defense. Myles Garrett managed to sack Williams or help sack him, and ended the game with 1.5 sacks added to his impressive single-season total.
The longtime Browns star now has 21.5 total sacks this season, which puts him one away from tying the NFL record. Michael Strahan and T.J. Watt are currently tied for the record of 22.5 total, but Garrett is within easy reach of tying or setting a new record before his season ends.

Following the Bears-Browns game, players exchanged handshakes and pleasantries, including Williams and Garrett. Cameras not only captured them hugging, but also what they said to one another.
“You knew I couldn’t let you get it on me, man,” Williams told the Browns star.
“I just needed one more,” Garrett fired back before hugging the quarterback, who asked if he could get his jersey.
“You’re a legend—Hell of a player. Keep going, baby,” Williams told him, with Garrett replying, “Appreciate it. Hey, get that 3,000, bro.”
Garrett has easily put himself amongst the all-time greats in NFL history, and achieving the record on his own would further add to his legacy. The Browns wrap up their season with games against the Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Cincinnati Bengals.
Williams currently has 3,150 passing yards for his season, so it’s possible that Garrett was encouraging him to get 4,000 yards before the campaign ends. However, that would require several games of 250-plus yards against some tough upcoming opponents.
The bigger goal for the Chicago Bears is to reach the NFL Playoffs, something many weren’t expecting from this team this season. Williams and the 10-4 Bears face the Green Bay Packers next, followed by the San Francisco 49ers, and conclude the season with a potential playoff-impacting game against the Detroit Lions.
