Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has not been himself this season.
The two-time NFL MVP has gone three games without scoring a touchdown, the longest drought of his career as a starter. He’s also thrown three interceptions in that span and hasn’t been impactful as a runner.
Something is clearly off. Jackson missed three games in October due to a hamstring injury and has dealt with knee, ankle and toe injuries the past few weeks.
Jackson’s health appeared to be improving this week, but he appears to have suffered a setback that has become a trend ahead of a Week 14 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
On Thursday, Dec. 4, ESPN beat reporter Jamison Hensley noted Jackson was not practicing. He was limited with an ankle injury on Wednesday.
“This marks the 4th straight week where Jackson has missed at least one practice,” Hensley added.
Jackson’s lack of production on the field is no coincidence, given his spotty practice participation over the past four weeks.

Jackson’s participation at Friday’s practice will be telling if he will play on Sunday, but that won’t end any worries with him not playing up to his potential while dealing with injury.

The Ravens (6-6) hold a tiebreaker over the Steelers (6-6) in the AFC North division title chase, and a loss would be catastrophic. The Ravens would improve their playoff chances to 76% with a win. A loss would plummet those chances to just 30%, according to The Athletic’s playoff simulator.
