A fundraiser for the family of Renee Nicole Good, the woman shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer in Minneapolis on Wednesday, has accrued over $350,000 in donations.
Good, 37, a U.S. Citizen, was shot and killed by an ICE officer during a traffic stop in the city. The Trump administration has defended the unnamed ICE agent, with Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem claiming Good had “attempted to run a law enforcement officer over” before she was shot. But critics have condemned the killing, with the city’s mayor Jacob Frey calling it “reckless.”
At the time of writing, the fundraiser, set up by an individual called Mattie Weiss, has received $363,594 in donations.
“Please support the wife and son of Renee Good as they grapple with the devastating loss of their wife and mother,” a note in the fundraiser says.
“Renee was pure sunshine, pure love. She will be desperately missed.”
