A woman was found dead in the Chicago River Sunday morning on the Near South Side.
Maria Jose Casas Fabela, 20, was pulled from the water in the 2200 block of South Grove Avenue around 8:05 a.m. Sunday, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
Casas Fabela, of Northwest suburban Schiller Park, was dead at the scene, police said. An autopsy is scheduled that will determine the cause and manner of her death.
Area detectives were investigating.
