“The Last of Us” Season 3 is replacing one of its major roles.
In a surprise move, Manny (Danny Ramirez) is no longer part of HBO’s zombie apocalypse drama going forward, as confirmed by Deadline.
The character, one of the most respected members of the Washington Liberation Front, shared several pivotal scenes in Season 2, which premiered April 13, 2025. The cause for his exit boils down to “scheduling reasons,” says the outlet.
There aren’t many projects bigger than HBO’s award-winning drama, but Ramirez is in one of them: “Avengers Doomsday.” The actor plays Joaquin Torres in the next Marvel film, aka Falcon, reprising his role from 2025’s “Captain America: Brave New World.”
While “Avengers Doomsday” has already been filmed, its actors’ obligations on the upcoming global press tour will be extensive. In addition, Ramirez’s IMDB page lists five titles currently in production, including a remake of iconic crime thriller “Scarface,” so the actor is certainly in high demand.
In “The Last of Us” Season 3, Manny will be played by Jorge Lendeborg Jr. He featured as student co-anchor Jason Ionello in all three MCU “Spider-Man” movies, which are “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
He also appeared in “Alita: Battle Angel” and “Bumblebee.”
As a close friend of Abby (Kaytlin Dever), Manny will have a substantial role in Season 3, as it’s largely told from her perspective.
In addition, Clea DuVall (“Poker Face”) has joined the cast for the third season, reportedly playing a member of the deranged seraphite cult.
Is There a Third Season of ‘The Last of Us’?
“The Last of Us” was renewed for a third season before Season 2 debuted in April 2025. It is reportedly the final season of the show.
