SILVER SPRINGS, Nev. (KGO) — A preliminary magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck the Silver Springs, Nevada, on Monday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The earthquake was reported at 6:29 p.m. in the Carson City area.
It has since been downgraded to 5.5.
There are reports of the earthquake felt in Lake Tahoe and even the San Francisco Bay Area.
There have been several aftershocks.
