Two men were fatally shot about two hours apart Monday night in the East Garfield Park and Englewood neighborhoods.
Around 11:40 p.m., a 26-year-old man was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the left shoulder in the 7400 block of South Morgan Street, Chicago police said.
He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.
About two hours earlier, a 27-year-old man was standing in front of a residential building in the 3600 block of West Congress Parkway when three gunmen approached and opened fire, officials said.
The man was shot multiple times in the body and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he died, police said.
Their names have not been made public.
Area detectives were investigating both homicides.
