Woman hospitalized, person in custody after shooting in Coral Springs, cops say

A woman was hospitalized and a person was in custody after a shooting in Coral Springs on Thursday, officials said.

The shooting was reported near a shopping plaza along the 7500 block of West Sample Road.

Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed multiple officers in the area and behind the shopping plaza where two vehicles could be seen next to each other up against a building.

Coral Springs Police confirmed a woman was shot and taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

A person of interest was also taken into custody for questioning, police said.

Officials haven’t released the identities of the people involved or given any other details.

The incident remains under investigation.
