A man was detained after his son was fatally shot in a domestic dispute Wednesday in Palmetto Bay, authorities said.
The shooting happened at around 4:49 p.m. at a residence in the area of 168 Street and SW 92nd Avenue, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies detained a man in his 70s after his son, who is 47 years old, was found with a gunshot wound and later died, sheriff’s officials said.
Deputies have responded to the home in the past due to mental health-related incidents, officials said.
The victim’s identity was not released.
