Talk about a power-up. Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood will unveil new snacks, merch, and a meet and greet experience this week in anticipation of the upcoming release of “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.”
The limited-time activities will run from March 10 through April 13 at the Mario-themed land within the Southern California theme park, as well as Universal Orlando Resort.
Chef Toad himself prepared this all mushroom-themed menu for Super Nintendo World’s coolest new place to eat! California Live’s Jessica Vilchis goes on a tasting tour of Toadstool Cafe!
Here’s what fans can expect — let’s a-go:
- Meet and greet opportunities with Yoshi: This one will be worth a celebratory photo, “Super Mario Party” style.
- The Rosalina Cupcake: Buy this specialty, cosmic-themed dessert at some dining spots at the park; it’s a blue velvet cupcake filled with blueberry cheesecake and lemon buttercream, topped with a chocolate crown and star.
- Galaxy Popcorn: This movie-themed treat is multicolored, berry-flavored popcorn dusted with edible glitter.
- Luma Shoulder Pals: This exclusive merch is inspired by Lumas, the shiny star creatures in “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.” The interactive toys, available in blue and yellow, feature light and sound, and if you hold them close together, they communicate with one another.
- Galactic photo opportunities at Universal CityWalk: A themed photo area invites fans to pose in a “galactic tunnel-like experience straight from Mario’s newest onscreen journey.”
Access to Super Nintendo World is included with Universal Studios Hollywood admission.
“The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” hits theaters everywhere on April 1. Of course, it will screen at Universal Cinema at Universal CityWalk Hollywood, too.
