A toddler was found walking alone Monday night in Chicago, with officers saying she was left by an unknown woman who drove off as they search for more information.
The young girl, who was found about 6:50 p.m. in the 4300 block of W. Van Buren St. in Chicago’s Garfield Park neighborhood, is believed to be 2 or 3-years-old, police said, with brown eyes and brown hair with braids. She was wearing a pink coat with maroon and yellow stripes, a pink Mickey Mouse sweater and pink Hello Kitty shoes.
According to police she was also wearing a pink Adidas backpack containing diapers and an iPad with a pink case.
The girl was left in the area by an unknown woman, police said, who was wearing a green sweater and leopard print scarf. She fled in a black SUV headed eastbound on Van Buren Street, police said.
Police circulated a flier with the young girl’s picture on it, calling her “Jane Doe.” Anyone containing information is asked to call detectives at (312)746-8251.
