2 people found fatally shot inside Garfield Park home, Chicago police say

Two people were found shot to death inside a home in Chicago’s Garfield Park neighborhood on Tuesday evening, authorities said.

The incident was reported at around 5:50 p.m. in the 3500 block of West Arthington Street near South St. Louis Avenue. According to police, two victims were found unresponsive inside a residence and pronounced dead at the scene.

A 51-year-old woman sustained three gunshot wounds to the chest, police said. A second victim, a 23-year-old man, was shot once in the head.

A gun was recovered at the scene.

Area Four detectives are conducting an investigation.
