1 killed in multicar crash blocks from the White House

One person was killed in a multicar crash at 16^th and L streets in Northwest D.C. during rush hour Wednesday afternoon.

It’s unclear if the deceased was in one of the cars or was a pedestrian.

At least three people have been taken to the hospital from the scene a few blocks north of the White House.

The visible damage to some of the cars involved suggests the crash had tremendous force.

The crash happened about 3:50 p.m.
