Protests and vigils have been held across the country after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer fatally shot a woman in Minneapolis on Wednesday, in what could be a key moment in President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown in U.S. cities.
NBC News on Friday obtained what appears to be the cellphone video shot by Jonathan Ross, the ICE officer who fatally shot Renee Nicole Good.
There appear to be two expletives uttered at the end of the video, and it wasn’t immediately clear who uttered them. The video shows that there had been some sort of interaction going on between the officers and the woman in the video, who has identified herself as Good’s wife, and officers can be heard issuing commands.
The FBI will be solely responsible for investigating the fatal shooting. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz said he’s pessimistic there will be a “fair outcome” from a federal probe without local law enforcement involvement.
