4 things to know about the weather:
- Few showers Wednesday
- Warmer, sunshine Thursday
- Rain likely Saturday
- Cooler pattern next week
A small wave of low pressure will pass overhead Wednesday bringing mostly cloudy skies and the chance for a few drops of rain. Even without as much sunshine as Tuesday, Wednesday will still be milder.
Clouds and sprinkle chances will be highest from Wednesday morning until the early afternoon. Rain totals will be minimal. By later in the afternoon, the clouds will begin to scatter. Since sunset isn’t until nearly 8 p.m., our high temperatures, mostly in the low 70s, may not occur until 5-6 p.m. thanks to some late day sunshine.
Clearing skies overnight will allow temperatures to drop into the mid-50s Wednesday night. Warm and sunny Thursday with highs back to around 80°.

Rain cools down weather into the weekend
Friday will be nice and warm as well but clouds will be increasing and there will be a rain chance arriving by late in the afternoon and evening.
Widely scattered showers will continue on into Saturday morning with a more widespread rainfall more likely to arrive in the afternoon and evening. With a front hanging almost right overtop of our area, temperatures on Saturday will range from the mid-50s near the Bay to the low 60s in D.C. metro area to even the mid-70s west of I-95 to the Blue Ridge.
Rain will be ending by mid- to late Sunday morning and there will be some sunshine returning by the afternoon. Highs on Sunday will be near 60° across the area.
Monday looks dry with high rain chances returning for Tuesday and Wednesday. With our average high now above 70°, next week will be our longest stretch of cooler-than-average weather since the first half of February.
