Another day of record heat is on the way Thursday as things are expected to heat up this afternoon.
After a long-lasting weather pattern blasted hot air like a furnace across the region on Wednesday, hitting over 90° and shattering a record high in Philly that was set back in 1941, Thursday is set to break another record.
This time, as temperatures are expected to hit a high of 92° on Thursday afternoon, topping the record of 90° from 2002.
As detailed by NBC10 First Alert Weather meteorologist Bill Henley, the day started warm on Thursday, with temperatures in the 60s and 70s. But, those temperatures are expected to sour for a hot and partly sunny afternoon.
However, things should shift later in the evening on Thursday.
There’s also a chance of showers across the Philadelphia region on Thursday night.
A cool down is expected on Friday ahead of the weekend. But, it won’t be too drastic — temperatures are expected to hit a high of 83° tomorrow.
Then, Saturday should be even cooler, with a high of 77° under partly sunny skies.
