It might not always feel like it, as the Philadelphia Phillies continue along on a six-game losing streak, but it’s a good time to be a Philly sports fan as two teams are fighting in the postseason.
On Monday, the Philadelphia Flyers continued their hot streak, stomping the Pittsburgh Penguins on the road by a score of 3-0, and giving the Fly Guys a 2-0 lead in the series.
And, on Tuesday night, the Philadelphia 76ers look to bounce back — forgive the basketball pun — after dropping the opening game of the playoff series against the Boston Celtics.
It’s two Philly teams facing a pair of Boston squads in the playoffs!
And, on Tuesday, both of Philly’s postseason teams will be celebrated at a joint fan event at the Comcast Center Plaza, located along the 1700 block of John F. Kennedy Boulevard in Center City Philadelphia.
The combination Flyers/Sixers pep rally will be free and open to the public. It will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Organizers of the event said attendees can expect to see Flyers’ enigmatic mascot, Gritty, along with the Sixers’ mascot, Franklin, as well as team dance squads, games, giveaways and more.
Fans in attendance will also have the chance to win playoff home game tickets for both teams’ first round matchups at Xfinity Mobile Arena, organizers said.
