A teenager has turned himself into police after he was identified as a suspect in a drive-by mass shooting happened at a pop-up party on the Fourth of July of 2024 in Southwest Philly, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.
Naseem Sills, 19, walked into a police station on Friday, April 24 and was taken into custody, police said.
Sills is expected to be charged in connection to the death of Maurice Quain, police explained.
Fourth of July mass shooting in 2024
A gunman fired out of the passenger side of a passing SUV into a pop-up party along the 1900 block of South Salford Street in Southwest Philadelphia on Thursday, July 4, 2024, around 11:30 p.m., police reported.
The shooting left 19-year-old Maurice Quain dead, according to officials.
A teen girl, two teen boys and five men were left injured during the incident, police said.
Overall, police said, nearly 20 shots were fired in this shooting from three different firearms.
An investigation into the incident remains ongoing, officials said.
