A 22-year-old man is facing stalking charges after police said he followed a woman from New Jersey to Delaware, recorded her without her knowledge, then hid inside her car while she went inside a hospital.
According to the Middletown Police Department, on April 23, 2026 officers responded to the ChristianaCare Middletown Emergency Department after receiving a report about a suspicious person.
When officers arrived at the scene, police said hospital constables reported seeing an individual, identified as 22-year-old Prince Onukogu of Piscataway, New Jersey, on surveillance video getting into and then sitting in the rear seat of a patient’s vehicle.
Further investigation revealed that Onukogu had allegedly followed the patient, a woman who is a stranger to him, from New Jersey and recorded her at multiple locations without her knowledge.
Police said investigators determined Onukogu then followed the woman to the Middletown Emergency Department, where he got inside the rear of her vehicle and concealed himself while she was inside receiving medical treatment.
Onukogu was taken into custody without incident and charged with third-degree burglary and stalking.
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and issued $5,000 cash bail.
Police said he was unable to post bail and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.
