An investigation is ongoing, officials said, after a man was killed in a flurry of gunfire that happened along Kensington Avenue at East Clearfield Street early Monday.
The incident happened just before 1 a.m. along Kensington Avenue at East Clearfield Street, when officers were called to the scene where a man had been shot several times.
Here, officials said, police found a man — who only initially identified as a “John Doe” — after he had suffered gunshot wounds to his back and torso.
The victim, officials said, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced shortly after he arrived.
At the scene, investigators found at least 15 spent shell casings and found a vehicle that had also been struck by gunfire, officials said.
As the investigation unfolds, police said that investigators believe the shooting may be connected to another incident that happened near G and Potter streets.
But, officials said, an investigation is ongoing and no arrests have yet been made.
