And on the second day, the Jets went with defense.
Gang Green traded the No. 44 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to the Lions for Nos. 50 and 128, and then proceeded to select D’Angelo Ponds.
Barring another swap, it’s the lone Jets pick slated for Day 2 of the draft in Pittsburgh, which comes after a busy opening night that saw them pick up Texas Tech linebacker David Bailey at No. 2 overall, Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq 14 picks later, and then Indiana wideout Omar Cooper Jr. after trading back into the first round at No. 30.
They now have five more picks scheduled for Saturday — three in the fourth round and two more in the seventh.
