Parts of Massachusetts could see up to 5 inches of snow from a clipper system this weekend, according to the National Weather Service’s Boston office.
The system will bring accumulating snow to southern New England from Friday night into Saturday morning.
The highest confidence for impactful snowfall is across central and western Connecticut and western Massachusetts, where 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected, with localized totals up to 5 inches.
Central to eastern Massachusetts will see lighter snowfall — with generally a coating to 2 inches of snow.
Slick travel will be possible from Friday night into early Saturday.
“Forecast confidence is moderate due to a narrow snowfall gradient, where small changes in storm track could result in notable differences in snow totals,” NWS Boston wrote.
Looking ahead, another system may bring a threat of freezing rain late Sunday night into early Monday, mainly across interior southern New England.Discover more from USA NEWS
