Two 12-year-olds have been arrested and charged after police said they attempted to steal vehicles in Wilmington, Delaware.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, just before 11 a.m., officers responded to West 6th and North Union Street after receiving a report of an attempted vehicle theft incident.
Police said that when officers arrived at the scene, they spoke with an individual who claimed that two teen boys had attempted to steal a vehicle in the 200 block of Rodman Street.
That individual followed the teens and reportedly detained one of the boys, according to police. Officers then took the boy into custody without incident.
Police said that assisting officers found the other boy in the area of West 5th and North Union Street and took him into custody without incident.
According to police, an investigation revealed that both teens had also been in the 300 block of North Bancroft Parkway earlier, where they attempted to steal another vehicle.
Police said one teen was charged with possession of burglary tools and second-degree conspiracy. He was arraigned and released on a $3,000 unsecured bail.
The other teen was charged with two counts of attempted to commit theft of a motor vehicle and two counts of criminal mischief over $1,000 but less than $5,000. He was also arraigned and released on a $3,000 unsecured bail.
