Delaware County residents could soon be paying more in property taxes

Homeowners in Delaware County could soon be paying a lot more in property taxes.

The county officials are proposing a hefty increase for the second year in a row.

The proposed budget, introduced at a public meeting on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, includes a 19% increase, amounting to about $15 a month and about $188 more each year for homeowners.

Last year, the county increased the tax by 23 percent.

Council is expected to vote on the budget next Wednesday.
