Two men — twin brothers — from Absecon, New Jersey were arrested and charged, officials with the Department of Homeland Security said, after they allegedly made online threats to kill a federal official and called for ICE agents to be shot.
In a statement, officials with the Department of Homeland Security said that Ricardo Antonio Roman-Flores and Emilio Roman-Flores, both U.S. citizens who reside in Absecon, New Jersey, were arrested Tuesday after a search warrant was executed at their home.
Emilio Roman-Flores, officials said, has been charged with unlawful possession of an assault weapon, terroristic threats, cyber harassment and other offenses. His brother Ricardo Antonio, officials said, has been charged with conspiracy to commit terroristic threats.
Officials shared an image of firearms that, they said, were seized as part of this investigation.
According to officials, an investigation into the twins began after they, allegedly, made online threats to kill Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin and called for ICE agents to be shot “on sight.”
Both men, officials said, are currently being held in custody by the Absecon Police Department.
