Police are trying to find a man who allegedly left a lot of money in a homeowner’s mailbox in Delaware County over the weekend, according to the Nether Providence Police Department.
The homeowner explained that her house, located on the 300 block of South Providence Road, was once a psychiatrist’s office and thinks that the person who left the money may have been a patient of that office, police said.
According to officials, the homeowner said she saw a balding man pacing in front of the house before he opened the mailbox and dropped an item inside just before 11 a.m. on Dec. 6.
When the homeowner went to check the mailbox, she found a large amount of cash inside and called police to report it, officials said.
The man was last seen wearing a black puffer coat and is described as being about five feet, eight inches tall and between 20 and 30 years old, police said.
