Philadelphia police are seeking the public’s help in solving the death of a young woman whose decomposed body was found more than a year ago.
On Sunday, June 23, 2024, shortly after 10 p.m., police found the remains of 22-year-old Anastasiya Stangret along the 4700 block of Griscom Street. Stangret had suffered a gunshot wound to the head and her body was decomposed, police said.
A year and a half later, Stangret’s death remains unsolved though police announced a potential break in the case.
On Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, Philadelphia police released surveillance video of Stangret walking in the area of Penn and Arrott streets in the city’s Frankford section several days before her death.
