Two people had to be rescued after a large tree fell onto their SUV while they were driving along Henry Avenue in Philadelphia on Friday evening, according to officials.
The tree fell onto the car on Dec. 19 near the intersection of Henry Avenue and Walnut Lane in the Roxborough section of the city, officials explained.
While rescuing two people from the car, crews had to completely remove the driver’s side door as well as the passenger seat, officials told NBC10.
Both of the people were taken to a nearby hospital and placed in stable condition, NBC10 learned.
Officials were not able to confirm if there were more than two people inside the car at the time.
Henry Avenue at Walnut Lane will remained closed for several more hours as crews work to clear the scene because the tree is blocking the roadway.
