Police are searching for a man who they say shot his girlfriend inside a Northeast Philadelphia home Monday night.
Police responded to a reported shooting inside a home on the 1300 block of Passmore Street shortly after 7:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found a 21-year-old woman in a bedroom on the second floor of the home suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
The woman – who was conscious and able to talk – was taken to the hospital where she was placed in critical condition. She is currently undergoing surgery, police said.
Police determined that the woman’s 21-year-old boyfriend – who lived with her inside the home – was the person who shot her.

The man was spotted on surveillance video fleeing from the home and running eastbound on Passmore Street, according to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small. The man was last seen wearing a dark jacket or hooded sweatshirt, gray pants, dark sneakers and a dark backpack.
While police are not revealing the man’s identity, Small told NBC10 they know who the man is as well as his last known address.
“We’re pretty confident we’re going to take him into custody soon since we know who we’re looking for,” Small said.
