Mayor Cherelle Parker, along with the Philadelphia Parking Authority, is set to hold a ceremonial signing of a bill that will fund the revitalization of a Center City bus terminal.
The event will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Philadelphia City Hall.
The revitalized station, previously the Greyhound Bus Terminal, located at 10th and Filbert Streets, will soon provide a clean, comfortable environment for bus travelers and welcome them to major events, including America’s 250th celebrations, the FIFA World Cup, and the Major League Baseball All-Star Game weekend.
Last year, Philadelphia City Council passed Bill 250951, authorizing the City and PPA’s plan to fund the bus facility through a fee charged to bus carriers.
Philadelphia’s city councilmembers voted to reopen the Greyhound Bus Terminal in Center City ahead of America’s 250th birthday in 2026.
Officials shared that when the facility opens, the fee of $40 per bus per stop made within Philadelphia to load and unload passengers will increase to cover repair and operating costs.
The revitalized intercity bus facility will be operational by May 1, 2026, according to officials.
