Authorities are investigating a shooting in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, during an alleged car theft that sent one suspect to the hospital.
According to the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, in the overnight hours in the borough of Catasauqua, a suspected car thief was interrupted by a resident who took out a gun and fired a number of rounds at the suspect.
Officials said the suspect car thief was struck at least once.
The suspect fled the area with what appeared to be non-fatal injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital in a private vehicle, according to officials. The suspect received medical treatment and is still in the hospital at this time.
Officials said an investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this point.
