A police officer was hurt, officials said, while responding to a fire at a high rise condo unit in Atlantic City on Wednesday morning.
According to officials, a police officer suffered injuries from smoke inhalation while responding to a fire at the Brighton Towers Condos, located along the 2800 block of Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City, New Jersey at about 5:15 a.m. on Wednesday.
Officials said crews responded to the high rise structure to find heavy flames pouring from the eighth floor of the structure.
As of about 6:30 a.m., officials considered the incident to be a two-alarm fire as they were still working to extinguish the flames.
Officials said the officer was being evaluated by medical units due to smoke inhalation and did not immediately say if anyone else was injured in this incident.
Also, fire officials did not immediately discuss what may have started the fire or the extent of damage the incident caused to the structure.
Crews were still working at the scene as of about 6:45 a.m.
