SEPTA’s new Regional Rail schedules will go into effect on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, the transit agency announced.
The new schedules will include minor increases to the Wilmington, Trenton and Chestnut Hill East lines as well as more frequency from Wayne Junction directly to Philadelphia International Airport.
SEPTA also said there will be an ongoing increase in vehicle availability after last year’s federally-mandated inspections and repairs on their 223 Silverliner IV rail cars led to significant overcrowding and cancellations.
SEPTA plans to put their newly acquired rail cars from the Maryland Area Rail Commuter (MARC) system as well as some of their locomotive-pulled trains into service to help with vehicle counts during the morning and evening rush, allowing for more cars per train, less crowding and fewer skipped stops.
