Two men fighting over parking spot led to one of them being hit over the head with a gun in Philadelphia on Thursday, according to the police department.
Officers with the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the 2700 block of A Street in the Kensington section of the city for reports of a shooting around 1:20 p.m. on Jan. 29, police said.
When they got there, they said that they found a 45-year-old man bleeding with an injury to his head.
Investigators discovered that the man got into an argument over a parking spot with a 21-year-old man which then escalated to a physical fight, officials said.
During the fight, the 45-year-old pulled out a knife while the 21-year-old showed he had a handgun, police said. Both men lowered their weapons and continued to fight.
At some point, a third person who was identified as a 36-year-old woman pulled another firearm from a nearby car and hit the 45-year-old man with it, police reported.
The woman then fired off one round to the ground, according to police.
Both the woman and the 21-year-old man were arrested and police were able to gather all of the weapons, officials said.
The 45-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital where he is recovering.
This comes as the city is still working to dig out from last weekend’s snow storm.
The Philadelphia Police Department’s East Detectives is investigating.
